Oneida Lake and the Oswego River
The branch from the Central Trail north to Oneida Lake, Three Rivers and Oswego, and the shore trail along Lake Ontario to the Salmon River.

Two branches left the Central Trail for the water route. One ran from Canaseraga north to the south shore of Oneida Lake at South Bay; the other from Onondaga to the Seneca River and Three Rivers, where the Seneca and Oneida rivers join to form the Oswego. From Three Rivers the trail followed the Oswego River to Swa-geh, the lake port at Oswego, and a shore trail continued along Lake Ontario to the Salmon River at Pulaski (Ga-hen-wa-ga).
The 1962 sheet draws the Oswego River at half its real length and puts Oswego almost on Oneida Lake, so this branch is the most heavily stretched part of the overlay; the river junctions and the lake ends are pinned, the trail between them is interpolated.
